A new chapter in the legacy of Historically Black College and University (HBCU) baseball

These events have served as the stage for an annual postseason invitational tournament to determine a national champion for HBCU “small school” and "large school" baseball programs.

Black College World Series
The inaugural Black College World Series featured six HBCU baseball teams, made up  from the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II and from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). School baseball programs from these two athletic governing associations constitute the “small school” division.

The Black College World Series will took place on April 28, 2021 – May 1, 2021 in Montgomery, AL and allowed HBCU baseball programs to write the next chapter of a much needed showdown to determine a national champion of black college baseball.

WORLD SERIES

Montgomery, AL

Six teams entered the BCWS:  Bluefield State, Edward Waters, Florida Memorial, Rust, Savannah State, and Xavier-Louisiana.  Bluefield State defeated Xavier University of Louisiana to claim HBCU Baseball's inaugural Black College World Series.
